Biography

Whiskie (she/her) grew up in the East Bay. She spent most of her childhood outside, with a pencil in hand and animal friends in tow. In high school, Whiskie memorably scored “tattoo artist” on a career exam and thought, “weird.”

It wasn’t weird! It was cosmic, but Whiskie wouldn’t know that for over a decade as she studied environmental science in college and graduate school and then dragged herself through sundry non-artistic careers (she was most recently an elementary school teacher).

As a tattoo apprentice, it’s not surprising that Whiskie draws inspiration from when she last fully dedicated herself to artistic pursuits- those carefree days under the oaks in the golden hills. Whiskie still loves to draw plants and animals and all things nature. She tends towards a cute, playful, nostalgic style.
